A visually stunning film with amazing special effects, great animation, and decent cinematography. On top of all that, it has a gripping storyline that held me in through the entire film.
Though the film succeeds in establishing a mood, partly due to its excellent score, it falls flat in a lot of other areas.
The plot isn't very deep at all; it starts out with a very good premise, but fails to deliver anything beyond that.
The film's cinematography, while very creative, is seemingly used without consideration for the storytelling, and thus hampers the film rather than helping it.
On the whole, this is a very impressive technical feat, but it falls short of being a great film due to the rather shallow and confusing storytelling.
